What to eat when you're exploding with heat
- Tortilla chips and hot sauce
- Jalapeño peppers, roasted, blended and spread on bread with salted butter
- Coconut curry made as spicy as possible
- Hot sauce on popcorn
- Hot sauce on salad
- Hot sauce on pizza
- Hot sauce on everything
- Olives pickled with chili peppers
- Cucumbers doused with heavy shakes of cayenne pepper and garlic
- A whole habanero.
After sweating out every molecule of your desire, tame the heat with the following:
- Pomegranate, ripped apart, soft membrane bits included
- Dark chocolate dipped in raw honey
- Fresh-picked mulberries. Eat enough to stain your hands and mouth hazy purple
- Avocado smoothie (avocado, sweetened condensed milk, almond milk—blended)
- Apricot jam spooned straight from the jar
- An entire pineapple. Save the core to suck on later
- The ripest mango you can find, cubed and scooped out of the skin
- Cold, full fat yogurt topped with blueberries
- Frozen lemonade sipped with a big fat straw
- Baklava made by an Arab friend's mother or aunt
- Hot sweet tea (best shared).
